Europeans for Peace
With this programme, the foundation provides financial support for project meetings between young people from Germany, Central, Eastern or South Eastern Europe or Israel who are tackling cross-border issues concerning the history and aftermath of National Socialism and current questions on enforcement of human rights. The programme was initiated in 2005 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Since then, more than 330 transnational projects have been funded with a total of 4.25 million Euros.

The projects form a valuable contribution to keeping alive the remembrance of the victims. At the same time, they encourage people to be active in safeguarding minorities and human rights issues nowadays.
The EUROPEANS FOR PEACE programme carries out this task in a special way:
Young people use their creativity and commitment to tackle issues of 20th century European history and current problems in society within Europe and Israel, thus linking the past with their own responsibility for protecting human rights. In so doing, they form friendships beyond their own country’s borders and, in the process, make their own personal contribution to international and cultural understanding.
